Preseason: Friday 7 & Saturday 8

These are the final two days of the preseason, the fun part of the hockey season is almost over sadly and it's almost time to get serious and to win games. But before that happens, Let's go over this past weekends games.


The Detroit Red Wings win 4-2. Tyler Bertuzzi scored two goals, Elner Soderblom and Joe Veleno score for the Wings and Nick Abruzzese and Rasmus Sandin score for the Leafs. The Buffalo Sabres loose 7-1 to the Penguins, with their only goal scorer being Vinnie Hinostroza. On the Pittsburgh team, Both Syndey Crosby and Bryan Rust score twice, then Jake Guentzel, Ty Smith and Danton Heinen score. The Edmenton Oilers beat the Seattle Kraken 5-3. Daniel Sprong, Matty Beniers and Jared McCann scored for the Kraken and Tyson Barrie, Jesse Puljujarvi, Leon Draisaitl, Evender Kane and Connor McDavid score for the Oilers.


The Winnipeg Jets win 5-3 against the Calgary Flames. Tyler Toffoli, Blake Coleman and Nazem Kadri score for Calgary. Pierre-Luc Debois scores twice, and Nikolaj Ehlers, Kyle Connor and Mark Scheife score for Winnipeg. Vancouver goes 4-0 against the Arizona Coyotes. Bo Horvat, Dakota Joshua, Elias Pettersson and Andrei Kuzmenko score.


Tampa Bay Lightning win 5-2 against Florida Panthers. Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point score along with a Vladislav Namestnikov Hattrick for Tampa. Rudolfs Balcers and Aleksi Heponiemi sckre for Florida. The New Jersey Devils win 5-3 against the Boston Bruins. Jersey's scorers are, Alexander Holtz. Dawson Mercer, Jack Hughes, Yegor Sharangovich and Tomas Tatar. Boston's scorers are, David Pastrnak, Jakub Lauko and Patrick Bergeron.


The Toronto Maple Leafs win 5-1 against the Detroit Red Wings. Pius Suter is the lone scorer for Detroit and William Nylander and Auston Matthews both score two goals and Denis Malgin scores one for Toronto. The Blues go 6-0 against the Blackhawks. Ivan Barbashev(x2), Nikita Alexandrov, Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas and Ryan O'Reilly score. LA beats Anaheim 6-3. Gabriel Vilardi, Arthur Kaliyev and Carl Grubdstron score for LA the first period. Mason Mctavish (ANA), Max Jones (ANA), Troy Terry (ANA), and Sean Durzi (LAK), score second period. Phillip Danault and Kevin Fiala, both for LA score during third period.


Minnesota wins another 5-1 game against Dallas. Only Joe Pavelski scored for the Stars. Joel Eriksson Ek, Kirill Kaprizov (x2), Brandon Duhaime, and Marco Zuccarello score for the Wild. Ottowa Senators win in overtime against Montreal Canadiens 3-2. Cole Caufield and Kaiden Guhle score the goals for the Canadiens. Derick Brassard, Scott Sabourin and Drake Batherson (OT winner) score for the Senators.


The Washington Capitals also win in ovetime against the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3. Alex Mantha, Alex Ovechkin, Nic Dowd and Dylan Strome (over time) score for the Capitals. Patrick Laine, Yegor Chinakhov, and Sean Kuraly score for the Jackets. The New York Islanders beat the New York Rangers 3-1. Kieffer Bellows, Matt Barzal, and Zach Parise score for the Islanders. Kaapo Kakko scores for the Rangers.


The last game this preseason was won by the Vegas Golden Knights, 5-1 against the Arizona Couotes. Travis Boyd is the one goal for the AZ team. Chandler Stephenson, Nicolas Roy, Jonathan Marchessault, Jack Eichel and Alex Pietrangelo score for the Vegas team.


This concludes the end of the preseason. This by no means defines this season shape of each team, it just helps team build their roster and see who to keep in mind. It also helps players warm up and get back to being on skates again. Happy hockey season everyone!
