It's hockey time! Preseason 2022 - Sunday Sept 26 (part 2)

Sunday we had 10 games, 3 of those split squad. First played the Columbus Blue Jackets against the Pittsburgh Penguins, where the The Penguins won 3-2. Jon Lizotte, Corey Andonovski, and Jason Zucker scored for the Penguins while James Neal and Nick Blankenburg scored for the Jackets. During their second game, the winners were flipped and Columbus won 5-1 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Only Jordan Frasca scored for the Penguins while for the Jackets, Justin Danforth scored two goals and Patrick Laine, Jakub Voracek and Gustav Nyquist all scored one goal.


The second split squad that played were the Colorado Avalanche against the Minnesota Wild, but the wild only played one game. The second part of the Avs squad played agains The Vegas Golden Knights. The goal scorers for the Avalanche team were Spencer Smallman, Shane Bowers, Alex Beaucage, J.T. Compher and Bowen Byram while for the Wild it was Kirill kaprizov, Ryan Hartman and Calen Addison while only Paul Cotter scored for the Vegas Golden Knights. Minnesota won the first game against the Avalanche while during the second game Colorado was able to beat the Vegas team.


The last split squad games were Calgary Flames versus Vancouver Canucks. The game was won in overtime by Michael Stone on the Calgary Flames, Mitchell Mclain and Ben Jones also scored for the Flames while Vasily Podkolzin and Conor Garland scored for the Canucks. Flames also won the second game, 4-0, with Jonathan huberdeau, Cody Eakin, Blake Coleman and Brett Sutter scoring.


Buffalo Sabres also won in overtime against the Washington Capitals. Dylan Cozens, Tyson Kosak, Jack Quinn and Vinnie Hinostroza scored against the Capitals while Anthony Mantha, Conor Sheary and Joe Snively scored against the Sabres. Anahiem Ducks players beat the Arizona Coyotes 3-2. Pavol Regenda, Tristan Luneau and Isac Lunderstrom scoring for the Ducks and Liam O'Brien and Christian Fischer scoring for the Coyotes.


Edmeton Oilers go 4-0 against the Winnipeg Jets. Markus Niemelainen, James Hamblin, Ryan Mcleod and Dylan Holloway score the 4 goals. The last game also goes to overtime, Logan Couture winning the game for the San Jose Sharks against the Los Angeles Kings. Luke Kunin and Timo Meier also scored for the Sharks and Carl Grundstrom and Blake Lizotte scored for the Kings.


It was a weekend full of hockey and there is more to come this pre-season so stay tuned!
