It's hockey time! Preseason 2022 - Saturday Sept 25 (Part 1)

Hockey is finally back this weekend! A total of 14 games are being played September 24th-25th. Teams like the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple leafs, Columbus Blue Jackets, Pittsburg Penguins, Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks and Arizona Coyotes played twice this weekend, some on the same day.


Early Saturday, Tim Stützle scores the first goal in the preseason against Toronto, but despite that, Toronto wins this game 4-1 with Justin Holl and Denis Malgin scoring once and Alex Steeves scoring twice. During the second game of Toronto vs Ottawa, the Senators were able to turn it around despite half of the squad already playing a whole game before and winning 4-2 against the Leafs. The only goal scorer for Toronto was Calle Jarnkrok with the 2 first goals of the game and then, in this order, Angus Crookshank, Josh Norris, Mark Kastelic and Tyler Motte all score one goal securing a win for the Senators this pre-season.


The third game played Saturday was the Bruins against the Flyers. Philidephia Flyers secure their first win of the preseason with Noah Cates and his brother Jackson Cates scoring the two goals for the team and the win of 2-1 with only Jakub Lauko scoring for the Boston team. The fourth and final game Saturday is won by the St Louis Blues 5-4 against the Arizona Coyotes. The goal scorers for the St Louis Blues where 2 goals for Jake Neighbours as well as 2 goals for Logan Brown and 1 goal for Matthew Kessel and the goal scorers for the Arizona Coyotes were Nick Ritchie, Milos Kelemen, Barrett Hayton and Matias Maccelli.
